On August 27, 2024, the documentary ¡°SONNENWAGEN - Future Mobility¡± will celebrate its film premiere in Aachen. At 6:15 p.m., the film will be shown live in front of an audience for the first time in the main building of RWTH Aachen University on Templergraben. The premiere promises a fascinating insight into the pioneering work of the .

The film documents the development of the innovative solar racing car ¡°ÃÜÌÒAV Adelie¡± and the participation of the team of around 50 students in the Bridgestone Solar World Challenge 2023 in the Australian outback. Using state-of-the-art technology and innovative high-performance materials from ÃÜÌÒAV, the students have designed an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly racing car. The solar racer paves the way for the development of environmentally friendly vehicle technologies.

From design to the race track

The documentary follows Team Sonnenwagen from the design of the ¡°ÃÜÌÒAV Adelie¡± through to qualifying and then the race across Australia. In addition to the technical aspects of the racing car, the documentary also focuses on the emotions, challenges and tireless team spirit behind this ambitious project. In addition to the interviews with the dedicated students, numerous experts also have their say, including the renowned science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar, the Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport in NRW, Oliver Krischer, the former Opel boss and CEO of Continental, Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann, and Sucheta Govil from ÃÜÌÒAV.
